Artist Bio

New York based artist, Patrice Robinson is best known for her intense, realistic
portraits, created by using oil on wood panels, oil on MetroCards, as well as watercolor
and graphite on paper. She uses her own experiences, as an African American woman
growing up and living in NYC as inspiration. The themes that interest Patrice are
spirituality, duality, confinement, displacement, and attachment to places and ideas.
She was an ARTWorks, Inc. Resident-Fellow at Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning
from 2019-2020. Patrice was also included in the We Need Love: A Black Love
Exhibition at ADAMA, featured in American Art Collector, PoetsArtist Magazine and
recently as one of Southwest Art Magazine’s 21 under 31 Artists to Watch in 2023.
